Inspection
INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
CAUTION:
- Do not put your hands into the water that has been heated for the inspection.
- Touching the heated water could result in burns.
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection | Condition |

2.647 to 3.021 kΩ | NOTICE:
If
checking the engine oil temperature sensor in water, be careful not to
allow water to contact the terminals. After checking, wipe the water off
the engine oil temperature sensor. If the result is not as specified, replace the engine oil temperature sensor. |

Installation
INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
(a) Install a new gasket to the engine oil temperature sensor.
(b) Using SST, install the engine oil temperature sensor to the cylinder block sub-assembly.
SST: 09817-33191 Torque: 19.6 N·m {200 kgf·cm, 14 ft·lbf}
NOTICE: If the engine oil temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it. |

(c) Connect the engine oil temperature sensor connector.
2. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL

4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

4. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor connector. |

(b) Using SST, remove the engine oil temperature sensor from the cylinder block sub-assembly.
SST: 09817-33191 NOTICE: If the engine oil temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it. |

(c) Remove the gasket from the engine oil temperature sensor.
