PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection | Condition |

Always | 10 kΩ or higher |
If the result is not as specified, replace the air fuel ratio sensor. |

Installation
INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR
HINT:
Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the air fuel ratio sensor.

(a) Using SST, install the air fuel ratio sensor to the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).
SST: 09224-00012 Torque: Specified tightening torque :
44 N·m {449 kgf·cm, 32 ft·lbf} NOTICE: If the air fuel ratio sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

(b) Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector. |

(c) Engage the 3 wire harness clamps so that the tie band is positioned as shown in the illustration.
2. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

3. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK

4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the air fuel ratio sensor.

PROCEDURE
1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR
CAUTION:
To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust manifold or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
(a) Disengage the 3 wire harness clamps. | |
(b) Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
(c) Using SST, remove the air fuel ratio sensor from the exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).
SST: 09224-00012 NOTICE: If the air fuel ratio sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it. |
